Today I am grateful that the Yankees are looking down at the Red Sox in the standings. When the universe is properly aligned, the stars are where they are supposed to be both in the sky and in the Yankees’ dugout(Cole, Judge, Stanton, Sanchez…) I can happily supervise my daughter making French Toast for breakfast contemplate the yard work to be done, and clean the floors. Any challenge, big or small, that life throws my way today will be handled deftly. I can find great comfort in knowing that for one day, and from the looks of it for most of the 2020 baseball season- the Yankees will be superior to the Sox. And… the greater gift is the realization that having one small thing to be grateful for, one source of pleasure (even if its is schadenfreude) makes accepting life’s challenges easier. Like having a favorite memory to hold onto, or a treasured trinket, or lucky sweater, the idea of Yankee supremacy can instill confidence, clarity, and calm – which will be helpful as life inevitably serves up one curveball after another to make life interesting. And while communities clamor for clarity on the reopening of schools- it is good to at least have clarity that the Yankees are in first place. If we want 2020 to start going our way we have to start with small wins. One day at a time. So, for today, there was a win. And the comfort of knowing that my universe has aligned in such a way that the sun is shining on me no matter what the weather forecasters say.
Thanks for coming!

Thanks Jim. Appreciate the support, I hope the old Graybeard is still enjoying hoops and heaters on Tuesday nights at Maplebrook.
