What do you see?

Staring straight ahead can be ridiculously monotonous.  You can lose yourself in a virtual tunnel.  You miss stuff.  Looking down at your feet as they pound the pavement tracking dangers lurking over each bump and puddle ain’t much better.  Searching for the slim sliver of perception that can give me the right mix of light, gradient, slope, and puddle warning on dog walking missions can be as futile as searching for answers to the uncertainty of a new school year.  And that’s why I am thankful for the “gift” of limited vision.  As I adapt to the uncertain terrain of my streets and sidewalks, I can achieve clarity.  I don’t have any distractions.  No one is clamoring about hybrid this or remote that.  It’s amazing.  To be able to adapt to change and maintain a sense of clarity is quite simple.  There aren’t too many choices muddying the waters when my eye looks for the right focus to keep dog and man out of harms way.  So finding clarity and having a focus on what is right in front of me is both survival and productive.  Especially when we are living in 2020.  (I think 2020 should replace all the verbiage like uncertainty and unprecedented). So when I can focus on exactly what needs to be done in front of me, there is no uncertainty.   And with clarity comes calm, which frees my mind to soak in the moment…assuming there is no teenager in the house.  With calm focus I can find my flow.  I can then withstand the turbulence and tumult that 2020 offers us!
