I don’t think Wally was trying to confuse Epictetus’s teachings when dropping his deuce, but he clearly demonstrated his preference to the Stoic, as he demonstrated that no one can determine his happiness from outside. He will do his business wherever he chooses. He does not let his happiness or relief depend on another. So from this I take great wisdom and solace, that when confronted with adversity, I can only look within for my God-given strength and ability to be joyous- and not let external events attach themselves to my ship of destiny. Wally sure doesn’t let anything get in the way of his choosing the perfect landing place for his fecal matter.
