The amazing universe will always place you where you need to be. At the moment you need to be there. Furthermore you will always be given whatever you need right when you need it. This is faith. Like blindly opening the front door and putting one foot in front of the other and knowing you will get to the bottom step of your porch. Assuming you have already retrieved your Amazon packages, and giant boxes from Target with, no doubt- the greatest need of all- toilet paper. Following the act of faith required to step down your stairs, you realize that what you need, more than ever is clarity.
Because when you close your eyes and can actually see the what, why, when, and where you received the gifts you needed at the time they were needed, your vision is sharpened, focused, and most importantly you have inner peace. And quiet.
Until the neighbor’s dog runs over and attacks your dear Wally and the ice coffee spills all over the driveway…
But to be able to gain that precious moment of clarity, and elusive peace and quiet- you have to accept the things you have, the gifts you have, and see your challenges as opportunities. You have to see any adversity as opportunity, and adapt. Physical and emotional challenges have to be viewed as opportunities. Hey- this is deeper than seeing the glass half full. I mean you have to adopt a habit of mind that says your going to take a perspective on each event that must be positive. When you work that magic, consistently, day in and day out, the miracle happens. You get clarity. You see how it is that we always get exactly what we need, when we need it, where we need it.
And tonight the Celtics gave us a great example of that. When they started to look at missed shots as opportunities, and realized that a positive outlook would lead to easy buckets they pulled away. I could not see it that well. But I could see that they turned their fortunes around by gaining clarity. They suddenly knew what to do. And they got that by adjusting their perspective.
As a giver of gifts, being able to adopt a positive perspective allows you to see clearly how needs are taken care of at exactly the right time which is ya know…well, a gift.
So, keep smiling. Thanks for coming!

Your style of writing eerily reflects my father’s – I should dig up some of his scribblings that date back to his college days, so you can see the similarities. He, too, walked by faith. We miss his wisdom every day.
Having been a Donadoni most of my life – OK, all of my life – I whole-heartedly support the “giver of gifts” translation and have been one since I earned my own money. As I age, I have also come to adopt the glass half-full mentality and know that viewing life positively makes all the difference.
Thank you for connecting! And the kind words. I’d love to see your father’s “scribblings”!
