Awkward title. But, I mean as in Providence College. And I mean let’s be perfectly clear ‘bout PC. Based on some instant, tangible, and accurate feedback that I have received… which is what teachers should definitely rely on- not the summative one snapshot of possibly biased maybe invalid and always untimely kind of feedback-I must return to the formative days of life on the Hill, at the Helmet, Eaton on the Street of Yuck Truck at 2AM, where I discovered the rules of games that people play when they are trying their best to soak up every drop of the Natural Lite of their Lives.
As I reflect on the hazy daze of my Providence College Experience, I can only say that if it weren’t for Divine Providence I wouldn’t have made it out of any of the bizarre, definitely dangerous, borderline insane, and quite definitely boundary pushing experiences of those fabulous four years. Like good teachers need to make good connections with students, some of the relationships are beyond priceless. They probably also kept me out of jail. Or at least kept any possible incarcerations to a minimum. Or even provide-(see the word Providence again) a lifetime of perspectives on life beyond education and history and Syracuse, New York.
So, for today I am extremely thankful for the degree, preparation, relationships, and opportunities to avoid serious scrapes because of those relationships and…thankful that there really is such a thing as divine Providence. Maybe I only wanted to head to P.C. for great college basketball games, the cheap wings at Finnegan’s Wake, or the cute connections but hey that’s not totally true. But as we hit the Holiday Week of Thanksgiving…I certainly want to shout out my thanks for PC. Thanks for any and all feedback too…
