Well, as I said last post- sometimes you get down in the weeds. But today, One-Eyed Willy and Wally went for a walk and found someone who was much much much worse off than we were. In fact, Principal Donadoni used to be a Co-Athletic Director, and Co-Head of History department at the Kildonan School in Amenia, NY with a guy who always preached that there was always going to be someone worse off than you.
So, as Wally and I scanned the fragmented, flattened, somewhat furry remains of the Wascally Wabbit in front of our home I said to Wally, “Sometimes you have to put things in perspective buddy. And this here bloody furry pancake is a good reminder that we all have bad days. And we all know that someone somewhere is having a worse day than we are.”
He agreed. Although he also wanted to spoil his dinner with some of Bugs Bunny’s remains, but I wisely suggested that the AP would not approve that for his dinner.
In closing this short, but poignant post I would like to add that it was probably not the first time or last time I have thought of my former co-everything back in Syracuse who taught me how to handle and bag dead remains. (I am sure I learned other things from him but some things stick better than others). Let’s just leave it at that. Before I get into gory details of our many misadventures. I mean- I do have an Academy to run and showers and locker rooms to deep clean and get ready for another spring day!
Here’s hoping we can all hop safely across the lanes of life tomorrow.
Thanks for Coming!
