As Principal Donadoni stated last blog, we know who the real boss is. So as Wally and I watched the sun rise yesterday I had an epiphany. In my mind’s eye- I could see that as the students continue to blossom into amazing independent minded, free spirited, happy, and confident citizens of society-hopefully still taking out the trash and putting their clothes away we better put out the AP duty schedule. SO here goes.
Assistant Principal Duty Schedule:
4:30 AMI Ride to Gym for workout, supervise completion of protein packed breakfast, avoid hitting pedestrians daring to cross the street in the early early early morning rush.
5:30 AM Coffee run for the Real Boss
6:30-7:30 Supervise breakfast / morning announcements
8:00 AM Secure front gate, make sure bikers have helmets and be sure that Wally does not chase the student down the driveway.
9:00AM Take Wally for Morning Bowel Movement
10:00AM Check the budget / Be sure that funds are secured for End of Year activities!
11-1:30PM Lunch Duty-Best Part of the Day!!!
Make sure to grill chicken and rice for student-athletes that need to eat and beat feet fast. Also, check with cafeteria staff to be sure that dinner rotations will match up with student’s jam packed schedules.
2:00 PM Dismissal: Assign staff to be in the right place at the right time so that everyone gets picked up and dropped off …hopefully at the place that they were scheduled to go to. Have faith. Really. Hopefully doing something they love to do. Because we all should do what we love to do!
3:00 PM consult with Real Boss re: End of Year activities And…
Equity issues around favorite foods and yogurts and bathroom/ shower times. Confusion and controversy causes chaos. Sharing is caring sometimes needs supervision.
5:00-7:30 PM attend athletic events, may include baseball, lacrosse and the vital search for the “Port O’ Potty”…Hey when you gotta go you gotta go…you know?
8:00 parent phone calls / school committee meetings / Clean floors
9:00 PM Lock and secure building. Check hallways for dirty shoes, cleats, possible cat/dog conflicts
10:00 PM; Check cafeteria for readiness for next day.
11:00 PM Lights out. Can’t wait to do it again!
Thanks for Coming!
