You gotta know who you are. And I know who I am. I am a funny, sensitive guy with lots of special needs. And some gifts too- if I can remember where I put them. I love to think. I love to dream. I think I love to dream but I am not 100% sure. When I am sure- I will let you know. Sometimes, I know for sure. Well, actually I definitely know that I need to do what I have to do first- and that is take care of me. I mean my house. Or maybe both? Probably a good idea. Like today for example, I needed some help. The Academy’s original house that the Real Estate Lady/Guidance Counselor for Life miraculously made vanish (not literally, but you are picking up what I am putting down right?) had a few items that needed to be transported here to the new Castle by the River.
By the way, if you are ever nearby let me know if you can hear the princess yelling from the top of both lungs and tower. I am curious sometimes at night when the showers are running if the princess can be heard in a galaxy far, far away. It is quite alright if you do. Trust me. She has a lot to say. And you will love hearing the passion and the pride. But I am just asking. For a friend. Ya know?
Anyways- back to the help I needed. I got it. I always do. Know why? I ask. And I always get what I need. Every time. I’m good like that. Well, more than good. I am lucky too. And blessed. Oh man- see what happened there? I started looking at who I am, and what I am, and the words came tumbling out. Good, Lucky, Blessed. Geez. Does that make me mid? I hope not. I really wanted to get from good to great- but maybe that can wait until it’s my time. For now, and today’s work, we needed to get some strong handsome young men to move paint cans and deck boxes to the Castle on the Hill. No, that’s Ed’s place. We are in the Castle by the River.
Hey- it’s a school night so we couldn’t celebrate the hard work all night, but the 3 Wise Men of the Handsome Boys reflected on their journeys. One delivers messages, gifts and kindness. Plus the Delivery Man also was smart enough to marry a Friar. A Lady One. Wait. That doesn’t look right does it? I meant, my guy married a graduate of Providence to help him provide for his prodigies. The other one uses reason to interpret messages and has a real boat! His fruit bear many of the same features as mine. But he’s a real life lobsterman, and family and community man to boot. No boots today- but I guarantee you if you needed them, he probably would have them. Like he has fish stories too. Speaking of stories, one more story: I told my students today that I once saw a man who was grumbling about his shoes. And complaining. And then he came across a man who had no socks. And he was smiling. “What’s so funny?” The man asked.
“Well,” said the smiling sockless one. “I don’t want shoes, don’t need them. Not for where I am going. Besides, look at that guy over there with no feet at all? That’s who you should be helping.”
Good guys. These Wise Men. I should tell the Wise Guys from Syracuse about them. Or Matt. Or Dan. They know a lot too. But they might be jealous. Nah. We are all family here… right so we are good!
Talk later. But trust me on this one- when you know who you are, and where you are, and pay attention to the signs, then…and only then…can you have the honor of breaking bad, I mean bread with friends after a night of helping those who help others help themselves. Do you know what I mean?
Thanks for Coming!
