Academy’s June 2022 Newsletter

From the Desk of Principal Mrs. Donadoni (AKA; Beth, Mom, Chauffeur, Launderer, Dishwasher, Dog Walker, Nurse, Carpenter, Secretary, Home Decor Designer, Photographer, Gardener, Walker, Phish and Chips lover)

Dear Family, Friends and Followers of the Academy,

As the Principal of this Donadoni Academy, I have so much good news to share I don’t know where to begin. Yes. I do. First things first:

Thank God, Mr. Donadoni has finally stopped talking around here. We all know he really he likes to talk and talk and talk. A bit too much. Sometimes. We all know that. And now, I have time enough for me to listen to my own voice clearly so I can write this letter to you and tell you how proud we are of the students in the Donadoni Academy. They have done so well this spring semester. Brave Musical Maeve is so good she can play the saxophone and march with older students…at the same time! (I wonder if she chews gum too?). She has practically been promoted to the 9th grade. But we cannot get ahead of ourselves. Just focus on the moment. And celebrate her progress and the way she has been running her own Cat Academy. We call it Cat Nation. She takes great care of her “academy within the academy” and we want you to know how empathetic and kind and understanding she is. She had a great baseball season too. When she is not reading a book that is. Or chasing frogs or catching up with her peeps. Or playing a saxophone. Or setting the table. Or clearing it. Or playing in the beach. Or having fun on roller coasters with friends. Phew, she is a busy girl. I am tired just writing and thinking of it. Alex is running a gym, keeping the pool clean, and lifting heavy things to help support Mr. Donadoni, the weakling. He’s got a job where he can meet and greet and serve people with his great smile and soon they will see how far he can go. All this is good. He should be proud of his progress as he continues to work towards his goals. We are proud of both of them for the hard work, and progress and peace and joy they bring to the academy and everyone they meet.

Finally, I want to point out that the joy and peace we strive for can only be hindered by complaining, blaming, or regretting. Those things tend to get in the way of progress. The Academy does not teach those habits, because they get in the way of living our dream. And that is all we want to do. Don’t you?

I want to thank Vice-Principal Donadoni for helping keep the ship afloat and sailing to our islands of success. He has adapted well to the role and continues to heal his body so he can maintain his balance and keep us all from rocking the boat and falling overboard. He is a good captain of our ship because he knows how to row and how to show others to row and he always stays calm when the seas get stormy. So special thanks to him for all his hard work. I especially admire his humility and sometimes grace (except when he falls). He also seems to do what he says and only says what needs to be said, when it needs to be said. He helps us keep our eyes on the prize and focused on what is important to us. He thinks before he speaks. Can’t be easy with so many things for him to do. But one thing I know about him is he knows how to do. And I appreciate him for doing it. I remember now that’s why I said, “I do”…almost 21 years ago! But back to the Academy.

That is the June update. Happy Birthday shout out to Nana, and best wishes to all for a safe, fun summer vacation. The summer reading and feeding programs will be sent home in another email. Lest I forget, thanks to the helpers of the Academy like John, Tim, Tom, AJ, Dan, Andrea, Joseph, Mary, Patrick, Steven, Kerry, Lucy and Matthew. Maureen, Colleen, Renee, and Kristina and Paul also deserve our gratitude. Hoping The Beach Boys help gets to Rhonda too. She sings a happy tune and I hear another one’s coming soon. You all know who you are. Thanks again. You help keep the future bright for our children. And that is what we are here for isn’t it? Happy Summer Vacation to all of you who have touched our lives in any way!

Thanks for Reading,

Principal Beth Donadoni

And of course, Thanks for Coming!

  1. Have a wonderful summer, Donadonis!! Bill, keep on healing. Beth, keep on running the ship. It’s clear who is the Captain of that vessel. I love reading the stories and I always look at my boat with fond memories of our time working together. Love, Cathi
